From its opening in 1961, Greenwood Mausoleum has provided thousands of families with an elegant and peaceful setting to celebrate the life and memories of those most loved. Named by the Texas Society of Architects as one of the outstanding architectural achievements found in the state, Greenwood Mausoleum's beauty conveys a sense of peace and serenity year round to all who enter. Through its soft-gleaming marble - accented by beautiful stained glass windows, patterned arches of cast stone, flowering plants and the murmur of splashing fountains, Greenwood Mausoleum provides a warm elegance for reflecting and remembering loved ones.
The newest addition to Greenwood Mausoleum is its beautiful air-conditioned Independence Chapel. The arched ceiling and natural light of this architectural masterpiece contribute to a peaceful setting of reflection and honor. And, a sense of patriotic thanksgiving is felt and communicated through the inspiring 12-foot marble mosaic of The Great Seal of the United States which graces the floor of the chapel.
